Flammable solid, easily decomposed into Aluminum Hydroxide and Isopropanol contacting with water. Made from metal Aluminum and Isopropanol via catalytic synthesis.

    Aluminium Isopropoxide CAS NO. 555-31-7, simply called AIP. High purity. White crystals or lumps or powders with strong hygroscopicity. Easily decomposed into Aluminum Hydroxide and Isopropanol contacting with water. Flammable solid, used as reducing agent and strong dehydrating agent. When first produced, it is a colorless viscous liquid that solidifies into a solid, then crushed into irregular block solid.

    Application

    • Used as reducing agent and strong dehydrating agent.
    • Can be used as positive material for Lithium batteries.
    • Used as an intermediate of hormone drugs such as Allophytol, Testosterone, Progesterone, and Acetylprogesterone, and also one of the raw materials for Aluminate Coupling agents.
    • Used as catalysts in synthesis of spice chemicals.
